Whether you're looking for a unique night out, a creative outlet, or your first hands-on experience with clay, Slip Ceramics offers a rotating lineup of beginner-friendly workshops designed to inspire and engage.

Here are just a few of our popular offerings:

  • Ghost Date Night – A romantic, wheel-throwing experience inspired by the iconic pottery scene. Perfect for couples and BYOB-friendly.

  • Hand-Built Planter Workshop – Craft your own ceramic planter with an integrated drainage dish using slab-building techniques—functional and fun.

  • Mug Making Class – Build your own custom ceramic mug by hand—great for gifting or morning coffee rituals.

  • Featured Artist Series – Join us for special workshops led by local Nashville potters and ceramic artists. These one-time sessions explore unique techniques, styles, and personal approaches to clay.

  • Slip Casting Workshop – Learn the basics of slip casting using plaster molds to create clean, repeatable ceramic forms. Perfect for those interested in production pottery or sculptural design.

  • Seasonal Workshops – Think: pumpkin lanterns, holiday ornaments, Valentine's vessels, and more—our seasonal offerings celebrate the moment in clay.

No experience? No problem. All materials are included, and specific workshops are capped at six participants for personalized instruction and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

    PIECE PICKUP:

    After your class, we’ll fire and glaze your pieces in the colors you selected. They’ll be ready for pickup in about 4 weeks, and we’re happy to ship them if you’re located outside of Nashville.

  • Yes! We offer monthly memberships with 24/7 studio access, firing allowances, storage, and member perks. Reach out to learn more or schedule a tour.

  • Absolutely!
    We encourage prospective members to visit the studio before joining. Just fill out the membership form and select the option to schedule a visit. You’re also welcome to stop by during our open business hours—we’d love to show you around and answer any questions.

  • You may cancel your membership at any time with 30-day written notice prior to your next billing date by emailing: membership@slipceramicsnashville.com.

    Please note: Membership fees are non-refundable.

  • To maintain the integrity of our recycled clay and ensure consistent firing results, outside clay is not permitted, and all non-studio glazes must be pre-approved by the Slip Ceramics. This helps us protect our kilns, maintain glaze compatibility, and ensure the best results for everyone.

  • We offer a selection of Laguna clay bodies as well as studio-reclaimed clay for use in our classes and studio sessions.

    You’ll have access to our in-house glaze collection, including community favorites and a curated selection of commercial glazes.

  • Absolutely. We host private classes, team-building events, birthdays, and more. Just reach out to schedule here and customize your experience.

  • Nope! Our classes are beginner-friendly and designed to guide you through the process, step-by-step. Whether it’s your first time with clay or you’ve dabbled before, you’re in the right place.

  • All tools, clay, instruction, glazes, and firing for two finished pieces are included. You can keep additional pieces for $10 each.

  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy, and closed-toe shoes are a must. Aprons are available, but clay has a way of finding its way around them.

  • Your finished pieces will be ready approximately 4 weeks after your class. We’ll notify you when they’re ready, and we can ship pieces if you're outside the Nashville area.

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance are eligible for a full refund or one-time reschedule. With 24–48 hours’ notice, you’ll receive a class credit. Cancellations under 24 hours are not eligible for refund or rescheduling, but you may send someone in your place. No-shows are charged in full.
